YOUR SEDATION DENTISTRY OPTIONS
Making your dental appointment painless and comfortable.
Nitrous Oxide
Our sedation options can significantly enhance your dental experience. For instance, nitrous oxide elevates your mood and evokes an overall sense of well-being. We administer it through a nose hood throughout the entire procedure. As a result, nitrous oxide relieves anxiety and reduces pain during treatment.
You will also be able to drive yourself to and from appointments when using nitrous oxide.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Next, we provide oral medication prior to treatment, followed by nitrous oxide to induce a deeper state of sedation. Although you remain “awake,” your senses dull.
Consequently, most patients cannot remember the pain, smells, or noises associated with the dental procedure. However, when using oral medication, you will need a driver for your appointment.
IV Sedation
Finally, we offer IV sedation for more complex procedures. Many patients report feeling as if they slept through the entire procedure. In fact, a treatment lasting several hours may feel like mere minutes when you are sedated. While we typically use this type of sedation for longer procedures or complicated oral surgeries, we can also apply it to simple fillings or even cleanings.
Nevertheless, you will need a driver for appointments involving IV sedation.
